Description

This is a combined synopsis and solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in FAR Subpart 12.6 as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; proposals are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. Request For Quotation (RFQ) number is N66604-01-Q-2277. Incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular 97-17. NAICS Code is 339999; size standard is 500 employees. NUWC Division Newport intends to purchase the following items: SLIDE & SLEEVE SEVO, PN 52000-490 (2 sets); SLIDE & SLEEVE SIZE 0, PN 20361-411 (2 sets); SLIDE & SLEEVE 276 PRV, PN 20259-410 (2 sets); SLIDE & SLEEVE 276 BY PASS, PN 20244-400 (2 sets); SLIDE & SLEEVE 9070 PRV, PN 20259-411 (2 sets). Required delivery is 30 weeks after award, F.O.B. Destination Naval Station Newport; Newport, RI. It is expected to place a purchase order with Sargent Controls and Aerospace, 5875 West Burlingame Road, Tucson, AZ 85743. They are the only known source for these items because Sargent Controls is the original equipment manufacturer of these slides and sleeves for the 9070 and 276 systems and the only known company that can provide this material. The Slide and Sleeve components are critical items to the TAHE Depot's hydraulic valve MRO tasking. They are "Matched Set" items manufactured to very close tolerances (.0001" -- .0004" typically) by the OEM and are designed to maximize valve performance and minimize undesirable leakage. Slides & Sleeves port hydraulic oil from valve inlet to outlet to regulate motor, brake, lock and actuator performance. Control of valves is usually provided by electrical input from a Control Indicator Unit which, in turn, directs the Slide & Sleeve to port the required oil to the user system component. Failure of Slides & Sleeves to respond to control signals is the typical failure mode of hydraulic valves and TAHE Systems/components. All other timely offers will be considered.
