Description

Provide elevator maintenance and repair services at various federally owned buildings throughout the Washington, D. C. metropolitan area. The contractor shall perform maintenance services during each inspection to ensure reliable and continuous safe operation. The maintenance work shall be in accordance with commercial practices or manufacturer's specifications, if available, and shall be intended to maintain the elevators in safe and reliable operating condition until the next scheduled maintenance. More than one contract will be awarded from this solicitation. The period of performance for each contract is for a base period of one year with four one-year options. The total performance period will not exceed five years. Services expected to commence on or about May 1, 2001. Procurement made using FAR 12, Acquisition of Commercial Items and source selection methods for award. There is a bid guarantee required in an amount equal to 20% of the initial year price. The NAICS Code is 235950. This procurement is set-aside for small business concerns. More than one contract will be awarded from this solicitation. The solicitation will be posted on the Electronic Posting System (EPS) website at http://www.eps.gov. Hard copies of the solicitation as well as all amendments will not be issued. Any prospective offeror interested in proposing on this solicitation must register with GSA in order to be placed on the bidder's list for this solicitation. The date and time shall be listed in Section L of the solicitation. Offerors are strongly encouraged to attend the pre-proposal conference.
