Description

It is the intent of the National Library of Medicine (NLM) to procure a continuation of the professional services on a sole source basis with the Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT), Rochester, NY. NLM previously requested that the RIT's Image Permanence Institute (IPI) survey stored camera master microfilm and storage conditions at Iron Mountain. The Institute's knowledge and expertise qualifies them as the only source capable of completing this task. The RIT's Image Permanence Institute is an internationally recognized source of expertise on film storage and deterioration. They have extensive experience with the inspection of preservation quality microfilm for evidence of deterioration. This survey must be completed by March 31, 2001. The RIT is capable of completing this survey within the required time frame. This requirement is being procured using FAR Part 13 -- Simplified Acquisition Procedures. This is not a Request for Quotations (RFQ), nor is an RFQ available, however, all responsible sources may submit a proposal which will be considered by the NLM. Firms interested in responding to this notice must be able to provide professional service as specified and listed above. Responses should sufficiently demonstrate the firm's ability to meet the government's requirements. Responses are required within fifteen (15) calendar days from the publication date of this notice.
