Description

Defense Information System Agency (DISA) is soliciting interested industry participants for the development of an interoperability specification/standard to provide transport of secure voice over an ATM networks. The specification/standard would encompass specifications of capabilities and interfaces of Inter-Working Functions (IWF) to transport of black digital stream of secure voice over ATM network. The purpose of this specification/standard is to allow replacement of TDM-based trunks with ATM-based trunks for bandwidth efficiency, network integration, and better quality of connections. Industry organizations participating in this effort will do so at their own expense. This announcement does not obligate DISA/CFS or any other government organization to reimburse any participants' expenses.
