Description

The Army Atlanta Contracting Center intends to extend on a sole source basis Contract DAKF11-96-C-0091 with ITS Medical Systems, LLC. The extension will be for an additional six (6) months to continue to provide non-personal services to operate three Regional Training Centers Medical (RTS-MED) with one off-site facility under the authority of FAR 6.302-1. The RTS-MED program is designed to prepare all military forces to meet their missions through collective unit training. The contactor will continue to provide training, supply, maintenance and administrative support for the operation of the RTS-MED sites. This includes facilitating, integrating, and synchronizing all functional areas of the medical forces. The Government has determined that continuity of these support services is vital and must not result in a break in services. The surge-training period will occur from March through September 2001 and continuity of services must be provided to meet mission for the military training personnel. This synopsis is not to be considered a request for proposal. No contract will be awarded on the basis of offers received in response to this notice, but offers may be used to determine if a comparable source is available and more advantageous to the Government. Any response to this notice must show clear and convincing evidence that competition would be more advantageous to the Government. If no affirmative written response is received within fifteen (15) days from the publication of this synopsis, a modification to the existing contract will be issued after fulfillment of the required response time in accordance with FAR 5.203.
