Description

DECOMMISSIONING AND ENVIRONMENTAL CLEAN UP of Merrill Field Flight Service Station (FSS) facility located within the Merrill Field Airport in the Municipality of Anchorage, Alaska. The facility consists of two buildings approximately 14,875 square feet. The decommissioning will consist of demolishing and removing all demolition debris, foundation, components, underground water storage vault, septic system, leaching wells, crib, sidewalks, curbs, gutters, driveways, streetlight bases and all utilities lines. Interior finishes include carpet, floor tiles, acoustical tile, drywall/plaster walls, and ceiling tiles. Asbestos containing material is present but known sources of friable asbestos have been removed, with the exception of 115 linear feet of pipe insulation and 15 mudded thermal insulation system fittings, Lead-based paint is present but demolition debris will not be required to be disposed of as a hazardous waste. Chlorinated solvent-contaminated soil (approx. 30 cubic yards) and petroleum-contaminated soil (approx. 60 cubic yards) are present on site. The contractor is to furnish all labor, equipment, supplies, materials, and supervision and other items and services necessary to accomplish the work. The entire site shall be landscaped at the completion of the project. The approx period of work is April 2001 to September 2001. Responders are advised that this requirement maybe delayed, cancelled, or revised at anytime during the solicitation, selection, evaluation, and/or final award process based on decisions related to DOD changes and disposition of the Army Services. Estimated issuance dates IFB No: DACW85-01-B-0003 is on or about 09 Mar 01 and Bid Opening will be 30 calendar days thereafter. A site visit will be scheduled. Type of contract is firm-fixed-price.
