Description

The Government intends to purchase on a sole source basis 15 each CBR Filter Housing Assemblies from Anderson Metal Industries, Incorporated, 1385 Pittsburgh Road, Franklin, Pennsylvania 16323. These items are necessary for installation as part of the Shipboard CPS Backfit Program. The filter housing assemblies must meet the stringent tolerance requirements in order to interface properly with USN CBR filter sets as per the direction of NAVSEA DWG #53711 -- DL6573690. Anderson Metal Industries is the only known manufacturer of these items. No other source could acquire the special tooling needed and provide the complete assemblies by the required date of 15 March 2001. The successes of the CPS Backfit installations depend heavily on the quality and timely performance of the CBR filter housing assemblies within requirements.
