- Description
- The National Institutes of Health intends to negotiate a sole source contract under the authority of 41 U.S.C. 253(c)(1) and as contained in FAR 6.302-1(a)(2), with Synthia Lab Systems., Uppsala, Sweden, for two Automated Multitasking Radiosynthesis Devices. These devices shall be capable of the following: 1) The two automatic multi-tasking devices shall be capable of radiosynthesis with radioactive carbon (C-11); 2) These devices shall be based on robotics for material transfers with accompanying hardware modules for key radiosyntheses, work-up, purification and formulation operations, all linked to a fully programmable control system for different radiosynthesis requirements; 3) The devices shall operate within a lead shielded space of about 1 cubic meter and have facility for on-line recording of apparatus performance during radiosyntheses. 4) The devices shall provide safe and reliable radiosyntheses of high activities (greater than 1 Curie) of several radiolabelling agents at high specific radioactivity (greater than 4 Curie/micromole), to include iodomethane by _wet' and _on line' chemistries, nitromethane, methyl triflate, hydrogen cyanide, acid chlorides, carbon monoxide and phosgene); and 5) The devices shall provide a large range of derived radioligands and radiotracers in useful amounts (< 50 milliCurie) ready for safe administration to living subjects for imaging with positron emission tomography. It is the government's belief that these requirements can only be met by Synthia Lab Systems. Concerns that respond to this notice must furnish concise responses directed specifically to the requirements mentioned above. Sources demonstrating the capability to accomplish the above, shall supply pertinent information in sufficient detail to demonstrate that ability to perform. Information furnished shall include enough material to perform a proper evaluation. Closing date is 45 calendar days after publication of this notice. See Numbered Note 22.
