Description

This requirement is for the procurement of laboratory sample analyses in support of Point Mugu IR Site 5 Electrokinetics Demonstration Project. Analyses will be conducted in accordance with a work plan approved by the California Department of Toxic Substances Control, the Los Angeles Regional Water Quality Control Board and the California Department of Fish and Game. The Electrokinetics Project involves using electricity to extract heavy metals contamination from Mugu Lagoon and groundwater and surface water must be monitored on an ongoing basis. These services will be procured on a sole source basis from Fruit Growers Laboratory Inc. as the only laboratory listed in the approved work plan to perform all sample analyses. Modification of the work plan is not an option as the approval cycle for such a modification is very lengthy due to the involvement of three agencies and the Army Corps of Engineers. Proposed contract will run from March 2001 through September 2001. See Note 22.
