Description

The United States Department of Labor's Pension and Welfare Benefits Administration (PWBA) is seeking a contractor in a cost sharing arrangement, for the purpose of coordinating logistical arrangements and other activities related to the 2001 National Summit on Retirement Savings. The purpose of the Summit is to advance the public's knowledge and understanding of retirement savings and its critical importance to the future well-being of American workers and their families. The "Savings Are Vital to Everyone's Retirement Act of 1997" (SAVER Act) gave the President of the United States the authority to convene three National Summits on Retirement Income Savings to be co-hosted by the President and the Speaker and the Minority Leader of the House of Representatives and the Majority Leader and Minority Leader of the Senate. The first National Summit took place on June 3 and 4, 1998. The next National Summit will take place in the fall of 2001 in Washington, D.C. The contractor shall handle logistical, catering and other support needs for the National Summit. Summit participants are responsible for making and paying for their own travel and hotel expenses. The contractor shall share the costs of the National Summit and in particular, must provide funding for all expenses related to food, drink, entertainment and any other expenses for which Federal monies may not be spent. This is a 100% full and open competition. Offerors must submit written requests for the solicitation and those requests must reference the solicitation number RFP L/A 01-09.
