Description

The Government intends to award a firm-fixed price contract for the revitalization of a permanent party dormitory, Bldg 1209, Lackland Air Force Base, Texas. All work shall be in conformance with the drawings and specifications, including the furnishing of all materials, labor, plant, tools, equipment, and services necessary and incidental thereto. The work required to be performed by the Contractor consists of, but is not limited to, the following principle items: Install new ceiling fans. Construct new enclosed storage/janitor_s closet/mechanical room on second level above existing manager_s office. Install two additional pipes and related valves to allow the HVAC system to operate as a complete four-pipe system. Install new ducted AC supply system. Provide new floor finishes, wall finishes, and ceiling finishes. Replace metal wall studs as required. Upgrade light fixtures and make associated electrical system upgrades. Remove existing HVAC fan coil units and replace with units compatible with a four-pipe system. Replace existing chilled water lines. Upgrade plumbing system and replace toilets, and other fixtures as required. Remove damaged doors, frames, and hardware and replace with new. Upgrade the fire alarm system. Upgrade exhaust fans. Remove asbestos floor tile and mastic. Remove lead-based paint. The NAICS is 233320. The Magnitude of Construction Cost is between $1,000,000 and $5,000,000. In accordance with 13 CFR 124.507(c)(2), the Small Business Administration has determined that competition amongst 8(a) participants will be limited to those within the boundaries of the San Antonio geographical area. All interested 8(a) qualified sources within the San Antonio geographical area may submit a bid that will be considered by the agency. All solicitation documents, to include the initial solicitation, all amendments, clarification letters, and other applicable documents, will be issued electronically on the Electronic Posting System (EPS) available on the world-wide web. Drawings will be available in CD-ROM format for pick up from 37 CONS/LGCAC, 1655 Selfridge Ave, Lackland AFB, Texas 78236-5253. Hard copies of the solicitation will not be provided to any source.
