Description

It is the intent of the Forest Service, Rocky Mountain Research Station, Shrub Sciences Laboratory to enter a sole source procurement with Dr. David Nelson, PO Box 643, Provo, UT 84601. To conduct and report scientific research which is part of a larger research program aimed at evaluating the potential for the use of head smut pathoginf(Ustilago bullata) as a biocontrol agent for annual grass weed cheatgrass (Bromus tectorum) in conjunction with restoration seedings. The contract will be for a base year plus four option years. Dr.Nelson has been studying the cheatgrass head smut pathosystem since 1998 as principal investigator and has specialized plant pathology expertise.*****
