- Description
- The Medicare Payment Advisory Commission (MedPAC) is seeking a contractor to develop and apply both prospective and retrospective methods of estimating the impact of scientific and technological advances on the costs providers incur in delivering Medicare services. MedPAC will use these derived estimates to develop its annual recommendations to the Congress for updates to facility payment rates under two Medicare payment systems: the prospective payment system (PPS) for inpatient hospital care and the composite rate payment for dialysis services. In addition, the contractor is asked to examine technological advances under the new PPS for outpatient departments and identify categories of technology that are not recognized by the current payment system. RFP-04-01-MedPAC will be available on or about February 23, 2001. Interested sources must submit a written request for a copy of this RFP either by mail or by fax to Cynthia Wilson at 202-653-7238.
