Description
This announcement is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in subpart FAR 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; proposals are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. The solicitation number is NMA10001Q5000, and this solicitation is issued as a request for proposal (RFP). The solicitation document, incorporated provisions, and clauses are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular 97-21. The National Imagery & Mapping Agency (NIMA) wishes to procure the following: (1) Line Item: CLIN 0001 -- preventive maintenance, corrective maintenance, routine redesign of system hardware, fabrication of parts, modifications, integration of components, and consultation services as needed. Equipment that will be covered: McBain Stereo I (5700), McBain Stereo II (5701), McBain Mono I and (7) seven more similar McBain equipment, RDY Stereo Viewer and Zeiss Stereo Viewer. This maintenance will require the contractor to travel to each of the sites and perform the functions required at that location. (Washington, D.C. Metropolitan Area) In addition, the contractor may be required to use his own facilities and specialized alignment tools to effect repairs and calibrations beyond the scope of normal onsite maintenance. Due to the nature of the work, those individuals needing unescorted access to Government facilities shall be required to have a Top Secret Industrial Security Staff Approval (TS/ISSA) along with special compartmented clearances. A TS/ISSA is based upon a full field investigation and a polygraph interview. The polygraph is a condition to the issuance of a TS/ISSA and is treated as an integral part of the Government investigation. Those individuals under contract needing only limited or no access to Govenremnt facilities shall be required to have a Top Secret Industrial Security Approval (TS/ISA) clearance, along with special compartmented clearances. Period of Performance: February 01 through February 02 with four one year options which would extend the period of performance through February 06. NIMA intends to award a sole source contract to RDY Sales Inc., 2954 Seaborg Ave., Venture, VA 93003. Authority for Sole Source procurement is FAR 6.302-1. Responsible sources that are interested in this procurement may respond by providing clear and convincing information that identifies their capability. Responses must be received within 5 calendar days of the publication in the CBD. If a response is made it must be in writing. Offerors are to fax proposals to the National Imagery & Mapping Agency to the attention of Linda Bonham at (301) 227-2218 by 1:00 p.m. Eastern Standard Time.
