Description

A -- The U.S. Department of Commerce/NOAA intends to procure on a sole source basis from Minnesota IMPLAN Group (MIG) to provide the 1998 IMPLAN Coastal Data Sets. MIG is an industry leader in Input -Output (I/O) modeling software and data sets and is used by a wide variety of other government agencies and research institutions. Annually, Minnesota IMPLAN Group (MIG) updates the base data using national economic data. IMPLAN will help answer whether area closures affect the financial viability of some communities more negatively than others. IMPLAN will also allow the analysis of the impact of our policies on boat-builders, fish processors, and other industries closely tied to the commercial fisheries at a detailed geographical level. It includes the actual economic model and county level data files for the entire U.S. This is a notice of intent. No solicita- tion document is available.
