Description

The Office of Thrift Supervision (OTS), a bureau of the Department of The Treasury, operates a supplemental optional group life insurance plan for its employees. The plan covers approximately 1250 employees and about 345 retirees, with some 400 of these participants located in the metropolitan Washington, DC area. The OTS intends to issue a request for proposal (RFP) for an _insurance carrier_ to manage and operate the optional group life insurance plan, which will cover the following groups: 1) current and future active full-time and part-time employees; 2) current and future retirees and their dependents; and 3) temporary employees (non-permanent appointments). Offerors shall propose a plan that replicates a) the current OTS life insurance plan design; and b) the current plan design covering retirees. The resultant contract will have a base plan year of 12 months covering calendar year 2002, a provision for optional plan years in 2003 and 2004, plus and additional option for up to six (6) months. This is an unrestricted procurement. The anticipated issuance date for the RFP is March 14, 2001, with proposals due by May 14, 2001. The RFP will be posted to the Government_s Federal Business Opportunities (FEDBIZOPPS) web-site under the location for the Office of Thrift Supervision_s announcements, which are at the Department of The Treasury_s home page, and to the OTS_s web-site. All responsible _insurance carriers_ having an interest in providing these important services to OTS_s employees may submit a proposal, which will be evaluated by the OTS.
