Description

THE WASHINGTON METROPOLITAN AREA TRANSIT AUTHORITY:(WMATA) is soliciting proposals for the following RFP-FL-0693/RLR -- WMATA is soliciting proposals for a contractor to provide scheduled shared ride service or individual rides for low-income clients of the D.C. Department of Employment Services and the Fairfax County Department of Family Services who need access to jobs and training not accessible by existing public transit services or during hours when existing service is not available. This service will be known as trip brokerage and gap filling This procurement is a component of the Job Access and Reverse Commute Program an FTA-FUNDED program designed to help eliminate transportation as a barrier to preventing Welfare assistance recipients and low income persons from getting to and from employment training and employment sites. WMATA is the Washington region's Job Access and Reverse Commute Program administrator and is responsible for the the establishment of a trip brokerage and gap filling system.. Estimated cost range: $600 -- $800 thousand. This is a 12 month base year contract with 3 one-year options. A Pre-Proposal Conference is scheduled for 1:00 P.M. on 2/28/01, conference room 4F-02, at the WMATA JGB building, 600 Fifth street N.W. Washington D.C. 2001 Proposal Due Date 3/9/01.
