Description

Western Area Power Administration has a requirement for a contractor to provide all labor, materials, tools, equipment, transportation, and other resources necessary to complete this project. The work includes but is not limited to removing existing foundations; placing and compacting earth material and providing surfacing for the substation extension; providing foundations for substation structures and the control building expansion; furnishing and installing cable trench and modifying existing cable trench; furnish and installing galvanized bolted steel structures; installing government furnished power transformer, four power circuit breakers and two duplex switchboards. Furnish and install nine 69Kv disconnect switches and one 230Kv disconnect switch, voltage transformers, current transformers, coupling capacitor voltage transformer, fuse disconnecting switch, station service transformer, automatic transfer switch, high voltage buss, grounding system, overhead ground wire conduit, insulated conductor and cable, terminal boxes, AC distribution panelboard, control cable and lighting units; constructing an addition to the existing service building; furnish and installing conductor insulator and overhead ground wire assemblies and moving existing conductor and overhead ground wire from existing take-off structure to new take-off structure. Work shall be conducted at Western's Badwater Substation, located in Fremont County, Wyoming, approximately 1.8 miles north of Lost Cabin, Wyoming, on Highway 434. The magnitude of this construction project is between $1,000,000 to $5,000,000. Estimated completion date is December 21, 2001. There will only be one award from this solicitation. Therefore, all Bidders must submit their bids on an "all or none basis". The solicitation package will be issued hard copy Free of Charge. Note: In accordance with FAR 5.102-3, Western procurement officials will be limiting availability of the solicitation package. Therefore, only a Limited Number of Copies will be issued on a "first-come, first-serve" basis. This solicitation will be issued on or about March 13, 2001. Bid Bond, Performance and Payment Bonds shall be required. The closing date is on or about April 12, 2001. This proposed procurement is 100% set-aside for small business concerns. National American Industry Classification Code is 234920 and the applicable size standard is $27.5 million. See Numbered Note 1.
