Description

The Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division Lakehurst (NAWCADLKE) intends to enter into sole source negotiations with Kraut-Kramer Branson Lewiston, PA for the acquisition of thirty-seven (37) Flaw Detectors P/N 022-507-601. Required delivery date is 30 May 2001. The item is a Commercial-Off-The-Shelf (COTS) item used in Organizational Level Maintenance for the MV-22. The Flaw Detector is a "A" scan ultrasonic unit capable of inspecting limited access inspection areas and point inspection for evaluation of non-visible flaws or damage. The proposed acquisition is for an item that the Government does not own specification or drawings. The technical data and drawings for the Flaw Detector are proprietary to Kraut-Kramer Branson. NAWCADLKE intends to procure this item under the authority of 10 U.S.C. 2304 (C) (1) as implemented in FAR 6.302-1. All responsible sources are encouraged to submit a proposal, which may be used by the Government in determining whether or not to conduct a competitive procurement. A determination by the Government not to open the requirement to competition based upon the responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. SEE NUMBERED Notes 22
