- Description
- The Naval Air Warfare Center Weapons Division is seeking sources capable of providing an eyesafe high-resolution 3-D imaging LADAR for Rotary-Wing Obstacle Avoidance and Automatic Recovery. Specifically, the desired system will be small (less than 1.5 cubic feet), lightweight (less than 50 pounds), eyesafe (Class 1 per current ANSI standard), high-resolution (at least 6 inches), imaging (at least 2 frames per second), LASER RADAR (LADAR) that can be installed in the nose of a rotary-wing aircraft (manned or unmanned) and withstand the military environment (e.g. vibration, temperature, humidity, rain, salt spray) for these platforms to provide obstacle avoidance (half inch cables at 1000 meters) warnings and aid (based on high resolution imagery) in auto-recovery aboard air-capable ships. The Navy is seeking nondevelopmental items (NDI) which can be readily integrated (includes interface with GPS-based navigation systems) into manned aircraft (e.g. UH-1 helicopters) for evaluation. This sources sought is not a formal request for proposals and in no way obligates the Government in an award of any contract. Please submit responses to Naval Air Warfare Center Weapons Division, Code 45T000D, Robert T. Hintz, (760) 939-2890, hintzrt@navair.navy.mil.
