Description

Acadia National Park is soliciting proposals for a negotiated firm-fixed price contract that will be awarded based on both a technical and a price proposal. Work includes furnishing all labor, materials, and equipment required for the installation of a comprehensive fire protection (suppression, detection, barrier, etc.) system in Acadia National Park's Museum Collection Storage Facility in Bar Harbor, Maine. The facility is a single-story, wood-frame building with a floor area of approximately 3,350 square feet. Acadia National Park anticipates the selected system will protect the museum collection both by suppressing fires originating within the collection area without significant collateral damage to the collection and by blocking, detecting, and/or suppressing fires in adjacent areas. A single contract will be awarded to the best value offeror of the proposal that contains the system/method that best accomplishes the goal of protecting the collection within the allotted funds. The planning and design phase is anticipated to begin after a May 15, 2001 award. The construction phase is anticipated to begin in August 2001 with completion in November 2001. The estimated price range for this project is from $25,000 to $100,000. This solicitation is issued pursuant to Public Law 100-656, Small Business Competitive Demonstration Program, and as such, is subject to full and open competition.
