Description

Integrated Helmet and Display Sight System (IHADSS) Clear Laser Eye Protection for Infrared (CLEPIR) spectacles for the AH-64. Estimated maximum quantity is 1,984 over a 5-year period. This is a sole source acquisition to THALES Optics, St. Asaph, Denbighshire, United Kingdom. THALES is the only contractor that possesses the proven technical proficiency and manufacturing capability to produce a product that meets the Government's stringent product specification and the urgent requirement to deploy night vision goggle laser eye protection capability as soon as possible to the Army Warfighter. THALES CLEPIR is the only product to pass stringent qualifications tests by the US Army Aeromedical Research Laboratory (USAARL) and the US Army Aviation Technical Test Center (ATTC).
