ANNOUNCEMENT The Joint Ordnance Commanders Group (JOCG) and the National Defense Industrial Association (NDIA) will conduct the 9th Annual Global Demilitarization Symposium & Exhibition May 14-17, 2001 at the Nugget Resort Hotel in Reno, NV. This annual event continues to support the Department of Defense in numerous efforts directed at reducing the stockpile of excess and obsolete strategic, tactical, and conventional munitions. The agenda will focus on the global challenges and successes experienced in the disposition of energetic materials. Topics of interest will include ongoing disposal, recycling, and reuse programs, research and development efforts, transitioning technologies, and the latest policy issues that effect this business. Participation by industry, academia, government and international personnel is encouraged to foster cooperation in meeting the challenges of future efforts. Papers and exhibits will focus on technical information and ideas on demilitarization, disposal, and resource recovery and recycling (R3). The Global Demilitarization Symposium will also provide an Advance Planning Briefing for Industry on the U.S. Government's initiatives in this area.
