- Description
- The Marine Corp Systems Command is seeking potential sources for Food Sanitation Units (FSU). A Draft Performance Specification (PS) for the FSU is available at the following site: www.marcorsyscom.usmc.mil/mcscctq/. Potential offerors are advised that this is only a draft PS and the Government intends to modify the PS. It is requested that all interested parties review this document and provide responses/ comments/ questions/concerns to this office as soon as possible. Briefly, the FSU will provide the capability to properly clean and sanitize food service equipment and comply with preventive medicine regulations, thereby ensuring troop health and welfare. The FSU is organic to all units, which possess a field-feeding mission and will be employed in support of designated maneuver elements throughout the Marine Air Ground Task Force (MAGTF). The FSU will be incorporated into all field mess operations, thereby eliminating the requirement for immersion water heaters and other improvised equipment. The primary function of the FSU (e.g.), field sanitation unit), is, to clean, and sanitize pots, pans, and serving utensils, using suitable commercially available appliances. The FSU shall have the capacity to sanitize, and clean those ancillary kitchen items necessary to support a 650 man-feeding site, using two feeding cycles within a 12-hour period. Vendor solutions offering innovation in scrubbing and scouring pots, pans and other kitchen utensils are encouraged. All vendors having the capability of meeting these requirements are requested to submit relevant documentation. Responses/ questions/concerns/comments to this Request for Information (RFI) shall be submitted no later than March 19, 2001 to: Commander, Marine Corps Systems Command, Attn: Contracts Directorate, Bldg 2033, Suite 315, Quantico, VA 22134-5010. FEDEX or UPS deliveries should be sent to Commander, MARCORSYSCOM, 3041A McCawley Avenue, Quantico, VA 22134-5010. THE SUBMISSION OF THIS INFORMATION IS FOR PLANNING PURPOSES ONLY AND IS NOT TO BE CONSTRUCTED AS A COMMITMENT BY THE GOVERNMENT TO PROCURE ANY ITEMS/SERVICES, OR FOR THE GOVERNMENT TO PAY FOR THE INFORMATION RECEIVED. NO SOLICITATION DOCUMENT EXISTS AT THIS TIME.
