Description

Project requirements include the construction of 7 breakwaters (1 base bid including 5 each and 2 additives including 1 each) each consisting of approximately 920 tons of Type 1 rock riprap. Breakwaters to be constructed in extremely shallow conditions on a mat of geotextile fabric approximately 200' off of shoreline. Breakwaters to be constructed with a 5' top, a 3:1 slope, and to elevation +3.5. Location of site is due south of Abbeville, LA and just east of mouth of McIlhenny Canal. The performance period of the resultant contract will be 65 calendar days for base bid and 85 calendar days for base bid and both additive items. The acquisition is unrestricted. IFB packages will be available, free of charge, on or about March 23, 2001. A formal site showing/pre-bid conference will be held prior to bid opening. Telephone requests will not be honored. The price range for this project is between $100,000 and $250,000. All responsible offers will be considered by the agency.
