Description

The U.S. Department of Commerce, NOAA, intends to purchase the following items from RD Instruments. Two Acoustic Doppler Current Profile desk chassis : a 150 kHz and 38 kHz unit. The unit must be able to control the respective ADCP OS-Phased Array sonar transducers manufactured by RD Instruments. Control functions include: both narrow and broad beam formation in both transmit and receive modes, data display, data logging, data re-play and clear documentation of data storage format enabling 3rd party reformatting. The deck chassis must contain a gyro and GPS serial interface that accepts both RGGL and HDGT NEMA sentences on a single serial port. The deck chassis must be rack mountable and connect to an existing data/control cable manufactured by RD Instruments. The intended procurement is for supplies for which the Government intends to acquire under the guidelines of FAR Part 13, Simplified Acquisitions. Any small business sources, able to provide the exact make and model of the equipment referenced herein is encouraged to respond to this announcement within 15 calendar days after this publication. The Government reserves the right to solicit bids based on receipt of affirmative responses to this notice or issue an order to RD Instruments, whichever is determined to be more advantageous to the government without further notice. This is a small business aside. See Note 22.
