Description
This is a modification to the synopsis entitled NEODYMIUM: YAG (ND:YAG)- OPTICAL PARAMETRIC OSCILLATOR SYSTEM 691-21109-0000-914 which was posted on 2/27/01. You are notified that the following changes are made: NASA/GSFC intends to purchase the items from Spectra-Physics, 1330 Terra Bella Ave., Mountain View, CA 94039. Spectra-Physics is the only vendor with products and purchasing options meeting all of the requirements. NASA/GSFC plans to revise the specs to the following: Quanta-Ray ND:YAG PRO-250-10 laser with: 1) a single-rod oscillator/dual-rod amplifier configuration with gold-plated elliptical reflectors and off-axis injection seeding capable of producing 475 mJ at 355 nm in a linewidth less than 0.005cm-1; 2) active beam pointing control to better than +25 urads (Beamlok) and devergence-locking detector (D-Lok) to extend flashlamp lifetimes to greater than 40 million shots: 3) the ability to change flashlamps without removing the pump chamber from the laser head; 4) a beam path completely enclosed with beam tubes that are sealed for purging with dry air or nitrogen; 5) individually temperature-controlled, rotatable harmonic generator crystals in a single water-cooled housing with large (38 mm), high-damage-threshold dichroic optics; 6) the option for short ( 2.5ns) pulses in addition to the standard ( 9-12 ns) and long ( 200 us) pulse width. A Quanta-Ray MOPO-HF that mates to the Nd:YAG and has: 1) an all solid state optical parametric oscillator (OPO) based on an unstable resonator design and hard-coated, sealed beta barium borate (BBO) crystals in a master oscillator/power oscillator (MOPO) configuration; 2) continuous tuning from 450-705 and 715-1700 nm without changing any optical components, including dichroic separation optics, with a linewidth less than 0.075 cm- 1 across the entire tuning range; 3) energy output at 450 nm greater than 50 mJ/pulse and greater than 75mJ/pulse at 500 nm with a signal beam divergence less than 2 mrda; 4) fully automated scanning from look-up tables and auto-tracking feedback loops that track and small portion of the MOPO output to optimize crystal angles for peak power and can be used to write standard look-up tuning tables; 5) a compact one-touch automated remote module that displays both signal and idler wavelegth readouts and has optional RS-232/IEEE-488 interface capability with LabVIEW drivers provided for the system; 6) an option for a frequency doubling unit that is integrated on the same platform as the MOPO and has a doubling efficiency of at least 10% at 500 nm. These items will be purchased as a phased buy with the Nd:YAG acquired first in CY01 and the OPO acquired in CY02. The vendor must agree to a system price with no more an increase of 5% of the OPO's cost in the out year and to invoicing only for each item when it is delivered. The due date for receipt of quotes is extended to 3/22/01. Documents related to this procurement are available over the Internet and are in Microsoft Office 97 format and will reside on a World Wide Web (WWW) server, which may be accessed using a WWW browser application.
