Description
The solicitation and specifications will be issued electronically on the FEDBIZOPPS web page on or about March 22, 2001 at http://www.eps.gov unless a copy is specifically requested to be provided by mail. Please sign up for the _Auto Notification_ service to receive an e-mail from FEDBIZOPPS when an action is taken under this solicitation. Provide all labor, material and equipment necessary to perform drydock repairs including but not limited to the following Base Items: (1) Test Hull Half Pipes, (2) Clean and Inspect Diesel Fuel Tanks, (3) Clean and Inspect Sewage Tank, (4) Renew and Test Bulwark Gussets, (5) Remove, Inspect and Reinstall Propeller Shaft, (6) Renew Water-Lubricated Shaft Bearing, (7) Remove and Reinstall Propeller, (8) Ultrasonic Testing, (9) Clean and Test Grid Coolers, (10) Overhaul, Renew and Test Valves, (11) Preserve the Transducer Hull Ring and Renew the V850 Transducer, (12) Inspect and Test Steering Gear System, (13) Remove, Inspect and Reinstall Rudder Assembly, (14) Preserve Bilges, (15) Preserve Forepeak, (16) Preserve Underwater Body, (17) Renew Head Deck Covering System, (18) Preserve and Disinfect Potable Water Tank, (19) Provide Temporary Messing, (20) Provide Temporary Berthing, (21) Provide Temporary Logistics, (22) Routine Drydocking, (23) Repair and Test Skeg and (24) GFP Report. Optional Items include but are not limited to the following: (1) Welding Repairs, (2) Minor Coating Repairs, (3) Fabricate and Install Propeller Seal Retainer, (4) Renew Shaft Covering (50%), (5) Straighten Shaft, (6) Perform Minor Repairs and Reconditioning of Propeller, (7) Preserve Sewage Tank, (8) Provide Additional Temporary Messing, (9) Provide Additional Temporary Berthing, (10) Provide Additional Temporary Logistics, (11) Ultrasonic Testing and (12) Composite Labor Rate. The vessel is a 65 Foot-A-Class Harbor Tug. The vessel_s homeport is Rockland, Maine. The performance period for this availability is thirty-five (35) calendar days, beginning on or about 9 July 2001. The place of performance for this vessel is restricted to no open water transits and is restricted to the protected waters of the cutter_s assigned area of operations. The boundary lines/points in the geographic restriction area are: Eastport, Maine in the north and Rye, New Hampshire in the south. A non-refundable charge of $150.00 may be required in the form of a certified check or money order made payable to the U.S. Coast Guard for requested drawings. Drawings are also available, free of charge, on CD-ROM. For more information about CD-ROM drawings, contact the Contracting Officials listed above. All businesses, large and small, are encouraged to submit bids for the subject requirements. Plans and specifications will be issued on or after 22 March 2001. All responsible sources may submit a bid which shall be considered by the United States Coast Guard. ATTENTION: Minority, Women-owned, and Disadvantaged Business Enterprises DBEs). The Department of Transportation (DOT) Short-Term Lending Program (STLP) offers working capital financing in the form of lines of credit to finance accounts receivable for transportation related contracts.
