Description

Reclamation intends to negotiate and enter into a sole-source contract with Agam Energy Systems, Ltd (Israel) for installing their patented overhead line shower EES (enhanced evaporation system) at the Salton Sea Test Base in southern California. The Agam aerial shower will be pilot-tested at the Test Base for a period of six months starting in the Spring of 2001 to determine its capability for removing salt from the Salton Sea. For the test, Agam Energy Systems will provide the supplies and services required to design, fabricate, and install a 60-meter long EES consisting of two 30-meter high towers, a 7-line spray nozzle shower system, adjustable to 15, 20, and 25 meters, and the pumps, controls, and plumbing and electrical hookups needed to operate the system. Agam Energy Systems will also provide the technical support required for system checkout, O&M instructions, and test data analysis, including calibration of their analytical model for different operating conditions. The Agam EES was developed and patented by, are unique to, and are unavailable except through Agam Energy Systems. A determination not to compete this procurement based on response to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. This notice is being provided for informational purposes only.
