Description
The U. S. Coast Guard will issue a solicitation for the following services utilizing Simple Acquisition Procedures: Provide all labor, equipment, and supervision necessary to fabricate, install, maintain on station and remove at least 29 buoys. navigational aid no later than 1 June 2001 in the Kuskokwim River. Maintain the buoys for the summer and remove all buoys on or about 15 Oct. 2001. The Request for Quotation (RFQ) will be issued on or about 13 March 2001 and close on 30 March 2001. The applicable NAICS 332313 and the small business size standard is 500 employees. No telephone inquiries will be accepted. Any interested parties should submit a written request for a solicitation package to the Purchasing Agent at the address above or via facsimile at (510) 437-3014. SPECIAL NOTE: For Minority, Women and Disadvantaged Business Enterprises: The Department of Transportation (DOT), Office of Small and Disadvantaged Business Utilization (OSDBU), has programs to assist minority, women-owned and disadvantaged business enterprises to acquire short-term working capital and bonding assistance for transportation-related contract. This is applicable to any eligible prime or subcontract at any tier. The DOT Bonding Assistance Program enables firms to apply for bid, performance and payment bonds up to $1.0 million per contract. The DOT provides an 80% guaranty on the bond amount to a surety against losses. Loans are also available under the DOT Short Term Lending Program (STLP) at prime interest rates to provide accounts receivable financing. The maximum line of credit is $500,000.00.
