Description

Sale of selected pine and hardwood timber: For harvesting of hardwood and pine trees in Records Units #68 and #72. The sale consists of approximately 214 pine sawtimber trees containing an estimated 49,888 board feet Doyle Scale. The sale also includes approximately 3,033 hardwood sawtimber trees containing an estimated 492,564 board feet Doyle Scale and 11,175 hardwood pulpwood trees containing an estimated 842 cords. Log scales based on Form Class 80 for pine and Form Class 78 for hardwoods. The timber to be harvested is located on approximately 133 acres of the East Reservation, Barksdale Air Force Base, Louisiana. Cutting to begin no later than 180 days after award with 365 days to complete removal after contract is awarded. Timber harvesting will not be allowed during the 15-day annual modern firearm deer-hunting season for Barksdale Air Force Base. Anticipated issue date is 1 April 2001; anticipated opening date 1 May 2001. A 10% bid deposit will be required. This agency will consider bids from all responsible sources.
