- Description
- The 311 HSW/YASK intends to issue a solicitation for a DOSIMETER, DIGITAL ALARM. The purpose of the solicitation will be to award a three-year, firm fixed price requirements type contract, to include a (1) one-year basic period with (2) one-year priced option periods. Best Estimated Quantity (BEQ) is 669 each. The item is commercial and will be procured IAW Commercial Item Description (CID) A-A-50745. North American Industry Classification code (NAICS) is 541380. Contract Line Item 0001 is for NSN 6665-01-257-9461. P/N A-A-50745. Noun: Radiacmeter. Dimensions: Shall not exceed 5"L X 2.63"W X 1.3"H (Thickness). Predominate Material: Electronic Components & Case. Function: The dosimeter is required to operate under extreme temperature and humidity conditions. The dosimeter shall be extremely rugged and lightweight. The instrument shall be capable of continuously monitoring the dose rate and recording the total accumulated exposure. The dosimeter shall be capable of measuring X-ray radiation in the range of 40 Kev to 1.2 Mev. The dosimeter must accurately measure the received radiation, store the accumulated dose, and provide a digital read-out on a light emitting diode (LED) display or liquid crystal display (LCD). The dosimeter must have an alarm signal, which will produce an audible signal when a given dose has been accumulated and emit an audible signal that is in direct proportion to the radiation intensity to which the person wearing the dosimeter is being exposed. The Ombudsman does not diminish the authority of the program director or Contracting Officer, but communicates Contractor concerns, issues, disagreements, and recommendations to the appropriate Government personnel. When requested, the Ombudsman shall maintain strict confidentially as to the source of the concern. The Ombudsman does not participate in the evaluation of proposals or in the source selection process.
