Description

NASA/GSFC plans to issue a Request for Quote (RFQ) for a 24" diameter gold target. The vendor will reclaim and replace gold on an existing hollow copper cylinder, nom. 24"id. X 7" high. Gold at purity 99.99%, 0.030" +/-.022" thick bonded to ID surface of copper substrate, covering entire I.D. area. Application of the gold to the copper shell shall conform to instructions of GSFC drawing NO. GD 1490496 REV.D., except the thickness of the gold is to be 0.030" for this order. This procurement is being conducted under the Simplified Acquisition Procedures (SAP). The Government does not intend to acquire a commercial item using FAR Part 12. See Note 26. The DPAS Rating for this procurement is DO C9. The anticipated release date of RFQ 663-21031-0000-914 is on or about 3/27/01 with an anticipated quote due date of on or about 4/9/01. All qualified responsible sources may submit a quote which shall be considered by the agency. An ombudsman has been appointed -- See NASA Specific Note "B". The solicitation and any documents related to this procurement will be available over the Internet. These documents will be in Microsoft Office 97 format and will reside on a World Wide Web (WWW) server, which may be accessed using a WWW browser application.
