Description

The Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) is soliciting proposals to assist with developing and implementing outreach strategy for responding to severe and unmet health care needs of the U.S.-Mexico Border population. This includes focusing on the assets as well as the challenges that these populations bring to the enrollment and retention of children in Child Health Insurance Program (CHIP), Medicaid (health insurance programs), the special needs of children living at the U.S.-Mexico Border and the large majority who are children of working poor families. The community health worker will be the primary methodology for implementation of the outreach strategy, as this is a proven and effective enrollment approach for meeting the persistent, serious health needs in the border area. The procurement shall focus on community-based outreach initiatives to identify, inform, refer, and secure enrollment of children eligible for health services and health insurance, and to ensure that they are actually utilizing health services through the collaborative efforts of the primary partners.
