- Description
- 1. The Great Lakes Naval Training Center along with the Procurement Technical Assistance Center (PTAC) from the College of Lake County will conduct a one-day dynamic outreach conference that is designed for small business construction firms. The event is March 21st at the Port O' Call Conference Center at the Great Lakes Naval Training Center from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. The objective of the conference is to assist small construction related firms in being more competitive in the marketplace and increase Federal, State and Local government construction contract awards to small businesses. Targeted businesses include general contractors, construction material supply or architect-engineering firms. 2. Conference agenda and registration information are available on line at http://www.clc.cc.il.us/dept/cee/pta/c2001.html or by contacting the Conference Coordinators, Ms. Jan Kaiser at (847) 688-2600 x 108 or Mr. Marc Violante at (847) 543-2025. Registration fee is $55 per person and includes a continental breakfast, a luncheon buffet, and afternoon snack and cold beverages. Registration fee must be postmarked by March 15th and is non-refundable. There will be no walk in registration on the day of the event. Registration and payment may be sent to College of Lake County, 19351 West Washington Street, Grayslake, IL 60030; Attention: PTAC 3. Government representatives from major buying offices including U.S. Navy, U.S. Air Force, U.S. Department of Veteran's Affairs, Housing and Urban Development, General Services Administration and Defense Contract Management Agency -- Chicago will be available all morning to answer your questions. ECRC and the U.S. Small Business Administration will offer counseling tables on Pro-Net, central contractor registration system, and other useful web sites. Major prime contractors doing business at Great Lakes Naval Training Center will be available all morning to assist attendees with subcontracting opportunities. Morning and afternoon breakout sessions will offer attendees information about subjects of their choice. 4. The lunchtime keynote speaker is Mr. William A. Fisher, Associate Deputy Administrator for Government Contracting and Business Development for the U.S. Small Business Administration.
