- Description
- Researchers at the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) are working on the following technologies. The invention describes the use of polyelectrolyte multilayers (PEMs) to alter the surface of microchannel surfaces that was obtained by coating the channels with alternating layers of poly(allyamine hydrochloride)and poly(styrene sulfonate). The PEMs are easily fabricated and provide a means for controlling the flow direction and the electrosmotic mobility in the microchannels. For further information, contact the: National Institute of Standards and Technology, Office of Technology Partnerships, 100 Bureau Drive, Stop 2200, Gaithersburg, Maryland 20899; Telecopy: 301-869-2751.
