- SIMULATION-BASED MAINTENANCE TRAINING SYSTEM FOR AFSOC, POC Michael D. Wenrick, (850) 884-7794: 16th Contracting Squadron. This is NOT a presolicitation notice pursuant to FAR Part 5, but is a Market Survey to identify sources to provide simulation-based training system. The Air Force Special Operations Command has a requirement for simulation-based maintenance training system for C-130 aircraft. This notice does not constitute an Invitation for Bid or Request for Proposal and is not to be construed as a commitment by the Government. The Government will not reimburse contractors for any cost incurred for their participation in this survey. This notice is to identify interested and qualified contractors to provide a simulator-based maintenance training system with the ability to graphically represent electrical distribution, auxiliary power unit, T56 engine, Allison C-130 propeller, Fuel distribution, hydraulic, pneumatic and engine fuel systems of the C-130 on a standard, non-dedicated, desktop PC, as well in a network environment. It shall be fully interactive and free play environment, where the user (or instructor) can activate and deactivate portions of the systems, and see the effect such action have on the rest of the system. Provides interactive schematics, showing, for example, which wires are energized, positions of relays, the temperature in ducting, etc. Allows the user to simulate the failure of components within the system, and determine the effect that a single or multiple failures would have upon the system in a given configuration. Capable of emulate multiple configurations of C-130s, and can be easily changed as aircraft are modified. Provide multiple levels of detail, from a system-wide schematic to the internal schematic of a component (i.e., a generator). It also provides digital pictures of the components, and their location within the aircraft.
