- Description
- This is a modification to the synopsis entitled Partnership Opportunity for the Geostationary Observatory for Troposheric Air Chemistry (GeoTRACE) Mission, which was posted on March 7, 2001. This modification provides clarification of the requirements for the industry partner(s) and the resultant contract. The clarifications are summarized below. The industry partner(s) will; design, build, test, and calibrate an UV/visible spectrometer; integrate the UV/visible spectrometer along with the other GeoTRACE instrument, that will be furnished by NASA, onto the partner provided payload module; and integrate the payload module onto a spacecraft provided by the partner or by someone else. It is expected that primary selection of the GeoTRACE mission under the AO and the availability of funds would result in a contract to design, build, test, and calibrate an UV/visible spectrometer; integrate the UV/visible spectrometer along with the other GeoTRACE instrument, that will be furnished by NASA, onto the partner provided payload module; and integrate the payload module onto a spacecraft provided by the partner or by someone else. This synopsis includes, as an attachment, a revised "Partnership Opportunity Document (POD), Revision 1". The revisions to the POD are in red and also summarized below. The revisions are as follows: 1. clarification of requirements to 2.0 Scope, a. the industry partner(s) must be able to provide all three of the requirements of this mission, and b. clarify the requirements of the partner that during implementation the partner will; design, build, test, and calibrate an UV/visible spectrometer; integrate the UV/visible spectrometer along with the other GeoTRACE instrument, that will be furnished by NASA, onto the partner provided payload module; and integrate the payload module onto a spacecraft provided by the partner or by someone else; 2. addition of requirement to 6.2 Instructions for Response, responses to the POD shall present the ability to provide all three requirements of this mission; 3. Appendix A: Statement of Work, an additional statement is added that in the event that the dedicated spacecraft bus option is selected then, the partner will participate in a make/buy study to help the Government determine whether the spacecraft bus will be provided by the partner or by someone else. The Response Date specified in the General Information section of the synopsis is changed to March 16, 2001. The original synopsis included an incorrect date of March 15, 2001. The response date is for all Partnership Opportunity Document respondents who intend to make an oral presentation must provide written or electronic notice by no later than 5:00 p.m. Eastern Standard Time, March 16, 2001. The body of the original synopsis specified the correct response date of March 16, 2001. The delivery of the presentation packages is not changed by this revision.
