Description

The U.S. Army TACOM-ARDEC intends to issue a solicitation for the development, fabrication, and test of two (2) Breech Mounted Laser Ignition Systems (BMLIS) for the 155mm Crusader Cannon. The BMLIS consists of a Breech Mounted Laser Head, a Laser Pulse Generator, and Electrical Cabling. One of these BMLIS will be used for Initial Nuclear Radiation/Nuclear Effects Testing. The entire system shall be designed, developed and fabricated to meet the performance criteria specified in the Specification for the Crusader Breech Mounted Laser Igniter (SCBMLI) to be provided. It is the Government's intent to award a Cost Plus Fixed Fee Contract as a result of this solicitation. Due to restricted distribution of the SCBMLI and other related documents, receipt of a certified form DD 2345, Militarily Critical Technical Data Agreement, is required prior to release of these documents. No hard copy solicitions will be issued. The solicitation will be available on the Internet at http://procnet.pica.army.mil. Proposal submission is required to be electronic via disk or other electronic means. Contractors are required to be registered in the DoD Central Contractor Registry and paid via electronic funds transfer. The applicable NAICS Code for this action is 54171.
