Description

Services of an Architect/Engineer firm with specialized experience in design and construction of hospital mechanical projects to participate in schematic development, investigation, design, working drawings/construction documents, and construction period services for Project 596-01-101, "Upgrade Central Chillers(C)" at VA Medical Center, Cooper Drive Division, Lexington, KY. Project involves replacement of one(1) of the three(3) 900-ton chillers at Cooper Drive Division with a 1500-ton chiller. The chiller to be replaced will be removed, its CFC-based refrigerant captured and turned over to the medical center (for use with the remaining two(2) 900-ton chillers), and a new chiller with non-CFC refrigerant will be installed. System components in the Chiller Building will be changed as needed to accommodate the installation of the new chiller. Project drawings will be required in the AutoCAD.dwg format. Estimated construction cost range is between $500,000 and $1,000,000. Area of consideration is restricted to businesses within 100 mile radius of VA Medical Center, Lexington, KY. Interested firms, with specialization, must submit appropriate data described in Numbered Note 24 no later than COB 4/26/01. With reference to the Small Business Competitiveness Demonstration Program, this solicitation is issued on an unrestricted basis. NAICS Code No. 541310 applies with a size standard of $4 million. This is not a Request for Proposal.
