Description

SYNOPSIS: Sealed bids from all business concerns will be accepted for District of Columbia Department of Public Works Project DC STP-9999(982) in Washington, D.C. The project consists of roadway resurfacing; sidewalk work; utility and lighting reconstruction; and drainage work on the following D.C. streets: 1. Rhode Island Ave., NW from 9th Street to Logan Circle; 2. 10th Street, NW from Massachusetts Avenue to M Street; 3. P Street, NW from 4th Street to 7th Street; 4. New Jersey Ave., NW from M Street to Rhode Island Avenue; 5. R Street, NW from Florida Avenue (E) to New Jersey Ave.; 6. Rhode Island Ave., NW from North Capitol Street to Florida Avenue; 7. MacArthur Blvd., NW from Foxhall Road to Laverock Place; 8. 37th Street, NW from Reservoir Road to U Street; 9. R Street, NW from 28th Street to 29th Street and from 32nd Street to Wisconsin Avenue; 10. and Massachusetts Ave, NW from Decatur Place to Waterside Drive. The project is expected to be in excess of $10,000,000. Bid documents are scheduled to be issued on or about March 26, 2001. Bids will be due on or about April 26, 2001. The following applies to Minority, Women-Owned and Disadvantaged Business Enterprises: The Department of Transportation (DOT) Office of Small and Disadvantaged Business Utilization has bonding programs to assist minority, women-owned and disadvantaged business enterprises in acquiring short-term capital and bonding assistance for transportation-related contracts. Loans are available under the DOT Short Term Lending Program (STLP) at prime interest rates up to $500,000 to provide accounts receivable financing. The DOT Bonding Assistance Program enables firms to apply for bid, performance and payment bonds up to $1,000,000 per contract. DOT provides an 80 percent guaranty on the bond amount to a surety against losses.
