- 17. Provide all labor, material, equipment and services necessary to perform dry-dock repairs including, but not limited to the following Base Items: (1) Clean and Inspect Tanks, (2) Remove, Inspect, and Reinstall Propeller Shafts, (3) Remove, Inspect, and Reinstall Intermediate Shafts, (4) Clean, Inspect, and Disinfect Potable Water Tanks, (5) Renew Water-Lubricated Shaft Bearings, (6) Renew Shaft Sleeves, (7) Renew Propellers, (8) Clean and Test Grid Coolers, (9) Overhaul, Renew and Test Valves, (10) Inspect and Test Air Receivers and Relief Valves, (11) Remove, Inspect, and Reinstall Rudder Assemblies for Steering and Flanking Systems, (12) Renew Tender Towing Knees, (13) Preserve Barge Spuds, Spud Wells and Renew Spud Well Liners, (14) Perform Non-Destructive Testing of Various Deck Fittings, (15) Preserve and Disinfect Potable Water Tank(s), (16) Preserve Barge Buoy Deck, (17) Preservation of Underwater Bodies for both Tender and Barge, (18) Ultrasonic Testing, (19) Provide Temporary Logistics, (20) Routine Dry-docking of Tender and Barge, (21) Modify Barge Side Shell Plating, (22) Install New Tender/Barge Interface System, (23) Fabricate and Install New Sewage Tank, (24) Preservation of Barge and Tender Freeboard, Options include, but are not limited to the following items: (1) Welding Repairs including Crack Repair (Steel), Flat Plate Renewal, (2) Remove and Dispose of Additional Diesel Fuel, (3) Perform Minor Coating Repair, (4) Renewal of Tender Spud Well Liners, (5) Renewal of Barge Spud Well Liners, (6) Preserve Tender and Barge Tanks, (7) Ultrasonic Testing, (8) Provide Additional Temporary Logistics, (9) Composite Labor, (10) Lay Days, Vessel_s homeport is Greenville, Mississippi. The vessel_s length is 75 foot, E-Class River Tender and 130 Foot Barge. Vessel availability schedule is for forty-nine (49) days, starting 16 July, 2001. The following Geographic Restriction applies: Restricted to the Western Rivers of the United States. The _Western Rivers_ means the navigable portions of the Mississippi River and its tributaries above mile 0 of the Lower Mississippi River. Navigable tributaries of the Mississippi River include only the waterways within the areas of jurisdiction of Coast Guard Aids to Navigation Facilities as described in Light List Volume V (COMDTINST M16502.5), and the Tennessee-Tombigbee Waterway to the mouth of the Mobile River. This includes protected portions of the Intra Coastal Waterway connected to the _Western Rivers,_ but specifically excludes unprotected or open waters such as Mobile Bay, Lake Borne, or the Gulf of Mexico. There will be a non-refundable charge of $150.00 required, in the form of a certified check or money order payable to the U.S. Coast Guard, for requested drawings. All other referenced documents are available for viewing at 300 East Main Street, Suite 600, Norfolk, Virginia. Funds are available for this procurement. The proposed contract listed here is part of the Small Business Competitiveness Demonstration Program. Plans and specifications will be issued electronically at http://www.eps.gov/ and upon request by mail on or around 30 March 2001.
