Description
This project will consist of grading, drainage and asphaltic surfacing 16.33 km of roadway for UT PRA BRCA 10(2), in Bryce Canyon National Park, Garfield County, State of Utah. Estimated price range is between $5,000,000 and $10,000,000. Principal work items: 47.5 km grade finishing stakes; lumpsum contractor testing; 39,000 m3 watering for dust control; 17.0 ha clearing and grubbing; 96,000 m3 roadway excavation; 8,100 m3 subexcavation; 1,340 m3 placed riprap-various; 880 m2 MSE wall (welded wire face); 230 m2 MSE wall (modular block face); 74,000 metric tons aggregate base; 160,000 m2 road reconditioning; 1,000 metric tons magnesium chloride; 12,500 metric tons roadway aggregate; 2,500 metric tons asphalt cement grade PG 58-34; 450 metric tons antistrip additive type 3; 43,500 metric tons superpave asphalt concrete pavement; 300 metric tons minor hot/cold asphalt concrete; 220 metric tons prime coat grade MC-70; 1,060 m (various) pipe culvert; 500 m geocomposite underdrain system; 1,500 m2 geocomposite sheet drain system; 2,950 m Portland cement concrete curb (various); 3,250 m Portland cement concrete curb and gutter; 1,500 m2 Portland cement concrete; 8 each stone masonry headwall w/ stone masonry wingwall (various), 240 hour motor grader; 18,000 m3 placing conserved topsoil; 22 ha seeding (hydraulic method); 22 ha mulching (hydraulic method); 6,000 L pavement markings type A; 16,000 hours flagger; 3,200 hours pilot car. The Department of Transportation (DOT) Office of Small and Disadvantaged Business Utilization (OSDBU), has programs to assist minority, women-owned and disadvantaged business enterprises to acquire short-term working capital and bonding assistance for transportation-related contracts. This is applicable to any eligible prime or subcontractor at any tier. The DOT Bonding Assistance Program enables firms to apply for bid, performance and payment bonds up to $1.0 million per contract. The DOT provides an 80% guaranty on the bond amount to a surety against losses. Loans are also available under the DOT Short Term Lending Program (STLP) at prime interest rates to provide accounts receivable financing. The maximum line of credit is $500,000.
