Description

Description: The Bureau of Reclamation intends to negotiate on a sole source basis with Westec Inc., West Richland, WA., to acquire an Inukton Pan and Tilt camera, crawler mounted compass w/pitch-and-roll measurement, video overlay readout and wiring harness modification to work with the existing Reclamation owned TV and Trac Crawler system. The proposed action is for supplies for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of: FAR 13.106-1(b). The reason for justifying this sole source procurement is: compatibility with the existing equipment, the second system could be used for spares if necessary, to minimize downtime if/when the existing equipment is damaged or in use. The Government believes that only one responsible source can provide the supplies that will satisfy the agency requirements. Any firm that believes it (1) can furnish the items described above are encouraged to give written notification to the Contracting Officer. Supporting evidence must be furnished, in sufficient detail to demonstrate the ability to comply with the above requirements. All responses received within 7 days of the date of publication of this synopsis will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed action based on responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
