- Description
- The U S Coast Guard (USCG) intends to issue a solicitation for Phase II of the National Distress and Response System Modernization Project (NDRSMP) using limited competition. The NDRSMP Phase I solicitation stated: _The Government anticipates a limited competition between the viable Phase I contractors for award to one contractor for Phase II._ The objective of this acquisition is to modernize and upgrade the National Distress and Response System. The Coast Guard adopted a two-phased acquisition strategy. For Phase I _ Design Demonstration and Validation, the Coast Guard awarded three firm-fixed-priced contracts to the following contractors: Science Applications International Corporation, Motorola, Inc. and Lockheed Martin Corporation. Phase II will be a limited competition between the viable Phase I contractors; therefore, to participate in Phase II, you must have performed in Phase I. Phase II will include completion of the Detailed Design, Initial Operating Capability and continue through Production, Deployment and System Support. Parties interested in subcontracting possibilities should refer to the NDRSMP web site http://ndsmp.spawar.navy.mil for points of contact for each Phase I contractor. Interested firms are encouraged to read the project documents already posted on the NDRSMP Internet site. THIS ANNOUNCEMENT IS NOT A REQUEST FOR PROPOSAL AND IN NO WAY COMMITS THE GOVERNMENT TO AWARD A CONTRACT FOR NDRSMP, PHASE II.
