Description

The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) intends to negotiate on a sole source basis with the National Electronics Manufacturing Initiative, Inc. (NEMI) on Herndon, VA for a three-year Consortium Affiliated Membership. NEMI is comprised of major electronic equipment manufacturers and suppliers, federal laboratories, universities, and industrial trade organizations. NEMI members form Technology Working Groups (TWGs) and Technology Implementation Groups (TIGs) to develop Technology Roadmaps and to perform research and infrastructure development respectively for volume electronics manufacturing in North America. A firm-fixed priced purchase order will be issued on or about March 16, 2001 using simplified acquisition procedures. The proposed requirement is for supplies and services for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with one lone responsible source under authority of FAR 13.106 1 (b). This is not a request for quotations; a solicitation package is not available.
