Description

The St. Paul District Corps of Engineers has scheduled an informational meeting for April 10, 2001 with dredging business interests to seek input and discuss the potential for a long-term dredging contract for all of the Upper Mississippi River (UMR) and Illinois Water Way (IWW). The scope of work being considered is for hydraulic and mechanical channel maintenance dredging, dredged material placement site excavations, and possibly backwater dredging for Operations & Maintenance (O&M) activities and related work under the Environmental Management Program (EMP). Annual requirements typically would include dredging at approximately 75 to 100+ different locations at a cost of $10 to $15 million dollars. The meeting will be held in the Executive Conference Room on the 5th Floor of the Corps of Engineers Centre, 190 Fifth Street East, St. Paul, Minnesota. The meeting will begin at 10:30 a.m. (CST).
