Description

Contractor shall provide all labor, materials, equipment, transportation, supervision and disposal necessary to renovate comcenter and miscellaneous work at the U.S. Coast Guard Station Rockland, Rockland, ME (Knox County). Comcenter shall be renovated to include new static resistant solid vinyl 2'x2' floor tiles; new carpet in hall; new suspended acoustic ceiling; new recessed lighting; new ciling hung a/c units. The remainder of renovation in the building shall include new carpet in several office; new thru-wall a/c in one(1) office and new ceiling hung a/c in OIC office; remove and replace with new two (2) basement level hollow metal doors and jambs and repaintng one hollow metal storefront frame and door, and incidental related work. Estimated cost range of this project is between $25,000 and $100,000. Solicitation packages to be available on or about 04/03/01. The date for receipt of quotations is 04/24/01 at 4:00 pm local time. A bidders list is no longer available. This project is issued pursuant to the Small Business Competitiveness Demonstration Program, and is unrestricted. THE FOLLOWING NOTICE IS PROVIDED AS INFORMATION FOR MINORITY, WOMEN-OWNED, AND DISADVANTAGED BUSINESS ENTERPRISES: The Dept of Transportation (DOT) Office of Small and Disadvantaged Business Utilization (OSDBU) has programs to assist minority, women-owned and disadvantaged business enterprises to acquire short-term working capital and bonding assistance for transportation-related contracts. This is applicable to any eligible prime or subcontract at any tier. The DOT Bonding Assistance Program enables firms to apply for bid, payment and performance bonds up to $1.0 million per contract. The DOT provides an 80% guaranty on the bond amount to a surety against losses. Loans are available under the DOT Short-term Lending Program (STLP) at prime interest rates to provide accounts receivable financing. The max. line of credit is $500,000.
