Description
Provide all labor, material, equipment, transportation, and supervision required to replace roof, windows, and siding on family quarters at U.S. Coast Guard Station Hobucken, Hobucken, NC. 1.1 BASE WORK: The work listed below applies to the three (3) _ Family Quarters Duplex Buildings and one (1) Swimming Pool Shelter. 1.1.1 Remove all roofing materials on Three (3) Family Quarters Duplex Buildings and one (1) Swimming Pool Shelter to completely expose the wood roof sheathing. Removal of roofing materials is to include asphalt shingles, felts, flashing, roof caps, and roof vents. Also, remove gutters, downspouts, gutter boards, fascia boards, and plywood soffit panels. 1.1.2 Provide new 260# per square roof shingles and 2 layers 15# per square felt, new ridge vents, vent stack flashing, roof caps, drip edge, gutter boards, fascia boards, gutters, downspouts, new vinyl perforated soffit vent panels and new vinyl solid soffit panels. 1.1.3 Install new 2 x 6 pressure treated wood gutter boards and new 1 x 6 pressure treated wood fascia trim boards on three (3) Family Quarters Duplex Buildings prior to installation of new roofing, gutters, vinyl soffit, siding and trim. 1.1.3 Remove existing windows and storm windows. Replace with new vinyl clad wood double-hung window units with insulating glass and full insect screens. Remove existing front and side entry doors and storm doors. Replace with new entry doors and self-storing storm doors. This work applies to the three Family Quarters Duplex Buildings ONLY. Handle and dispose of the aluminum materials per the specification section 01650: RECOVERED MATERIALS NOTICE. 1.1.4 Remove existing aluminum siding and wood batten strips. Install new vinyl siding and trim over existing wood siding. Install new vinyl siding over areas where aluminum siding was removed. Install new vinyl siding over existing T-111 siding. Install new vinyl soffit and trim on the ceiling of the screened porches. This work applies to the three Family Quarters Duplex Buildings ONLY. Handle and dispose of the aluminum siding materials per the specification section 01650: RECOVERED MATERIALS NOTICE. 1.2 UNIT WORK: The work listed below applies to the three (3) Family Quarters Duplex Buildings and one (1) Swimming Pool Shelter, except where noted otherwise. Remove and dispose of all hazardous materials (lead and asbestos) as required per the results of an Asbestos and Lead Based Paint Survey, which the USCG Civil Engineering Unit is having performed. 1.2.1 Unit Work Item # 1: Install new 1/2-inch thick exterior grade plywood roof sheathing on the housing units to replace damaged 1/2-inch thick plywood roof sheathing on the housing units. Provide a unit work item per square foot based on an estimated quantity of 500 square feet. 1.2.2 Unit Work Item #2: Additional work to Handle and dispose of roof shingles as asbestos containing material. Provide a unit work item per square foot based on an estimated quantity of 12,050 square feet. 1.2.3 Unit Work Item #3: Additional work to Handle and dispose of roofing felt layers as asbestos containing material. Provide a unit work item per square foot based on an estimated quantity of 12,050 square feet. 1.2.4 Unit Work Item #4: Additional work to Handle and dispose of interior and exterior wood window and door trim painted with Lead Based Paint. Provide a unit work item per lineal foot based on an estimated quantity of 1550 lineal feet. 1.2.5 Unit Work Item #5: Additional work to Handle and dispose of wood windows painted with Lead Based Paint. Provide a unit work item per window based on an estimated quantity of 42 windows. 1.2.6 Unit Work Item #6: Additional work to Handle and dispose of wood doors painted with Lead Based Paint. Provide a unit work item per door unit based on an estimated quantity of 12 doors. The period of performance is 80 days after Notice to Proceed. The estimated range of this procurement is between $100,000.00 and $250,000.00, and in accordance with the Small Business Competitiveness Demonstration Program is open to both small and large businesses.
