Description
NASA's Goddard Space Flight Center (GSFC) is seeking an industry partner to develop design concepts for a cryostat and related systems for the Survey of Infrared Cosmic Evolution (SIRCE) mission in support of the development of a proposal to respond to the NASA MIDEX Announcement of Opportunity. It is expected that primary selection of the SIRCE mission under the AO (and the availability of sufficient funds) would result in a contract to design, build, and test the cryostat system. GSFC plans to select a partner using the following steps: (1) issue the partnership opportunity document which includes a mission overview, current cryostat specifications, and instructions for response (2) receive presentation packages and any presentations if parties are interested. (3) evaluate all written presentations and any oral presentations. All Partnership Opportunity Document respondents who wish to make an oral presentation must provide verbal or written electronic notice no later than 5pm EST, April 9, 2001. Notice shall be communicated to Michael Amato (michael.amato@gsfc.nasa.gov or 301-286-3914). The Partnership Opportunity Document does not represent a guarantee of selection for hardware development. GSFC does not currently have a requirement for this subsystem or funds to support its development. When responding to this notice, please reference this document. This solicitation/synopsis is not to be construed as a commitment by the government, nor will the government pay for the information solicited. An ombudsman has been appointed. See Internet Note "B". The documents for this partnership opportunity will be in Microsoft Office Suite (Word 6.0, Excel 5.0, or PowerPoint 4.0) format and will reside on a World Wide Web (WWW) server, which may be accessed using a WWW browser application. The WWW address, or URL, of the NASA/GSFC Business Opportunities home page is http://procurement.nasa.gov/cgi-bin/EPS/bizops.cgi?gr=C&pin=51.
